Location: Held via Zoom
On March 25, 2025, CPABC’s Indigenous Members and Allies Forum brought together Indigenous CPA members, candidates, and invited allies from British Columbia and Yukon to discuss the challenges faced by Indigenous professionals in the accounting field.
In this session, we were pleased to welcome Robert Andrews, DBA, MBA, FCPA, FCMA, CAFM (Blood Tribe), and Yuen Ip, MBA, CPA, CMA, PMP, ICD.D, leaders of the Indigenous Learners in Accounting (ILA) Initiative. Developed in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, the ILA initiative addresses systemic barriers in accounting education by integrating Indigenous culture, content, and context into its curriculum.
Robert and Yuen provided an overview of the program, sharing insights into its development, purpose, and the unique approach it takes to support Indigenous learners in pursuing CPA certification. More information about the ILA initiative.
