CPABC participated in the Second Annual Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, which brought together 25 Indigenous youth from across British Columbia for an immersive four-day experience in Vancouver focused on entrepreneurship, and cultural leadership.
Organized by AFOA BC and the Bear’s Lair production team, the event provided a diverse lineup of workshops to teach business fundamentals, teamwork, and Indigenous-centered entrepreneurship to the youth participants. Throughout the event, participants worked together in teams to tackle real-world business challenges, brainstorm innovative ideas, and develop unique business plans. CPABC and other sponsors engaged with the youth participants to mentor and support their learning experience and were also present as an exhibitor during the event’s career fair to encourage participants to consider career paths in business and accounting.
Each team also created and filmed video pitches to present their ideas at the closing gala, where the winning team was selected from a panel of judges. The winners earned an incredible $10,000 prize to support their business concept and further their entrepreneurial journey.
CPABC is honored to support these inspiring young leaders and remains committed to fostering opportunities for Indigenous youth in business and accounting.
