Lifetime Achievement

Within the community of fellows (FCPAs), there are a few exceptional individuals whose dedication, commitment, and extraordinary contributions include achievements of such significance across a broad range of areas that the profession wishes to recognize them with a Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented to members who have received their fellowship and since then have continued to have significant achievements in a broad range of areas. The award may not be presented every year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Is a member in good standing.
  • Has received their FCPA (either on its own or through a legacy fellowship).
  • Recipients of equivalent legacy awards are not eligible.

Selection Criteria

  • Criteria are similar to fellowship, highlighting a lifetime of leadership and executive-level accomplishments. 
  • Celebrates a member who already holds a fellowship.
  • Based on the entire lifetime of achievement.
  • Candidates must be nominated by more than one CPABC FCPA.

Tips to Support Your Nomination

To make a nomination, follow these steps:

  1. Review the selection criteria, especially sections “Nature of Achievements Under Review” and “Submission of Nominations.”  
  2. Complete the nomination file, following the instructions for each section. You may also refer to Tips for Drafting a Fellowship Nomination as the forms are similar.

The committee’s recommendation and the board’s decision will primarily depend on the care taken to describe the member’s, dedication, commitment, and extraordinary contributions, including significant achievements across a broad range of areas. This is why it’s important to clearly indicate the member’s significant leadership, exceptional contributes and impact. While the nomination file must be complete, the Member Recognition Committee may have facts validated by an outside source. Once the board awards the Lifetime Achievement Award, award recipient(s) will be contacted directly. For nominees not being recommended, the nominator will be contacted, as the nominee may not know that they have been nominated.
