Shane King, FCPA, FCA

A partner at MNP in Surrey, Shane is a respected leader in his profession and community who is committed to developing the talents of his team while working with clients to implement strategies that significantly improve profitability.

Shane plays a pivotal mentorship role at MNP as a lead facilitator and instructor of the firm’s “Becoming a Trusted Advisor” courses, which support CPA staff members in honing their skills and strengthening their client relationships. His myriad contributions to the firm also include serving as national leader of succession services from 2016 to 2024.

Shane extends his expertise beyond the firm as well. A proud alumnus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University, he chaired Kwantlen’s board of governors during the institute’s transition to a polytechnic university. This meant overseeing the management, administration, and governance of the university’s property, finances, operations, and direction.

He also shares his knowledge of business transitions, financial planning, family businesses, and retirement planning through Business in Vancouver’s Business Excellence Series. Active in the broader community as well, Shane is a board director with the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, and his contributions have been credited with helping the foundation reach ambitious goals to enhance health-care services in White Rock.

“As a finance committee member, Shane has been influential around major projects that have recently come to completion at the hospital, including the opening of new operating rooms, expansion of acute services, and acquisition of critically needed equipment. His engagement highlights his long-term commitment to improving health-care facilities and community services.”
