Mikaela Taylor, FCPA, FCA

Mikaela is a partner at BDO Canada, known for her exceptional technical expertise, meaningful client engagement, and passionate commitment to mentoring the next generation of CPAs. She is highly respected for providing quality oversight on complex engagements and has guided her national team of 700 professionals and partners to achieve growth of 100% over five years. Additionally, as the Canadian member of BDO’s global audit steering committee since 2023, she oversees the firm’s audit methodology and adoption of new assurance standards.

Mikaela previously worked at KPMG, including as a partner in audit (2012-2015). During her almost 20-year tenure with the firm, she significantly contributed to BC’s aerospace and life sciences industries—this included advising ID Biomedical during its sale to GlaxoSmithKline and volunteering as a member and treasurer of the Aerospace Industry Association of BC.

A dedicated volunteer in both the CPA profession and the broader community, Mikaela has served as a member and chair of various CPABC committees and forums since 2017 and has volunteered with Westcoast Family Centres Society for 20 years. As the Society’s board treasurer, she provided her financial expertise to guide a nine-year project that developed a community-based hub to co-locate essential programs for families.
