As the principal of Joanne YH Liu Company Inc., the public accounting and financial planning firm she launched in Richmond in 2015, Joanne is a trusted financial professional for individuals and businesses. She’s equally respected for her unwavering commitment to the profession, which includes contributing her leadership to the CPABC Burnaby/New Westminster Chapter. As the chapter’s dynamic chair from 2019 to 2024, she organized popular learning and social events (from summer barbecues to Lunar New Year celebrations), launched student events in collaboration with Douglas College, and led fundraising and volunteer initiatives in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Also a champion of financial literacy, Joanne has volunteered with CPABC’s Financial Literacy Program since 2015 and helped extend the program’s reach by delivering its first session in Mandarin in 2021. Since 2013, she has also shared her expertise in money management and financial literacy as a volunteer with S.U.C.C.E.S.S., offering newcomers to Canada accessible seminars on complex topics—from tax and fraud protection to managing finances in retirement.
In addition, Joanne served as vice-chair and director of the Canwest Taiwan Board of Trade, helping to advance the organization’s goal of enhancing business relations between Canada and Taiwan.
“Joanne exemplifies a dedication to service, education, and community empowerment. Her contributions have left a profound and lasting impact on both the CPA profession and the community at large.”
