Brendan L’Heureux, CPA, CA

Among his achievements as a financial advisor to the Government of Canada, Brendan spearheaded a cross-Canada assurance project on large-scale federal funding and had the distinction of being posted to the Canadian Embassy in Warsaw to support Ukrainian refugees.

Outside of his day job, Brendan is highly respected for his efforts to advance the profession internationally. As a Canadian representative of CMA Sri Lanka, he was instrumental in negotiations between Sri Lanka and CPA Canada to develop a locally produced public sector accounting certification for the Sri Lankan civil service.

Brendan is equally respected for his 12 years of service in support of St. John Ambulance, first in Sri Lanka and then in Canada. As treasurer of the board of directors for the BC and Yukon region, he was instrumental in strengthening the charity’s financial accountability and stability, implementing new fiscal governance processes that have helped ensure its continued ability to provide life-saving services. Today, Brendan serves as the BC and Yukon board chair. In recognition of his contributions, he was named an Officer of the Order of St. John in 2024.

In addition, Brendan helps train the leaders of tomorrow through his service as a commissioned officer with the Royal Canadian Army Cadets.

“As a director and chair with St. John Ambulance BC and Yukon, Brendan demonstrates his true passion for giving freely of his time in the interest of supporting lifesaving community service initiatives.”
