CPD
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements are set out in Part 6 of CPABC’s Bylaws and Bylaw Regulations.
CPD is learning that develops and maintains professional competence to enable members to continue to perform their professional roles. Any new learning and development that is relevant and appropriate to a member’s work/professional responsibilities and growth as a CPA will qualify for CPD. Note: Members may only report the actual number of hours that were spent developing new or existing competencies.
The mandatory CPD requirements for members of CPABC have been aligned with the International Federation of Accountants’ (IFAC) CPD standards. As all of the provincial CPA bodies have also adopted the IFAC standards, this brings greater harmonization to the CPD requirements for CPAs across Canada and their counterparts around the world.
