Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm.
—Publilius Syrus
The accounting profession in BC has benefitted immeasurably from the vision of our leaders and the contributions of our members.
Our profession has always understood the importance of celebrating excellence in all its forms.
Recognizing the faithful service of our leaders and the achievements of our most dedicated members also embodies something more important: it’s an opportunity to remind ourselves that we have tremendous capacity to effect positive and meaningful change. It reinforces the notion that the potential for greatness lies within each of us and that it can be unlocked for the benefit of the greater good if we are simply brave enough to stand up and say: ‘I want to serve.’
This is a powerful idea and, as the lists of names here will attest, it has been an integral part of the profession for more than 100 years.
