The history books will show that 2015 was a truly historic year for the accounting profession in BC. This was the year that Bill 4, the Chartered Professional Accountants Act, was brought into force by the provincial government on June 24, legally establishing the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. This meant that the three legacy accounting bodies ceased to exist and were amalgamated into CPABC.
What started as a dream to unify the CA, CGA, and CMA designations under CPA has become reality. This website presents a tableau of some of the important events, key milestones, and notable people from the past 130 years.
