Brian Friedrich, FCPA, FCGA, was a stalwart and respected member of the profession who lived life to the fullest, on his own terms, and challenged those around him to push boundaries, re-examine the status quo, and question arbitrary conventions.  In honour of his legacy, this bursary is established to recognize a student attending a recognized post-secondary institution in BC, including career-changers who are expanding their academic qualifications to pursue the CPA designation.  Preference is given to individuals with a background in disciplines other than accounting or finance, particularly those from fields that involve scientific or technological innovation, or the application of social sciences who are now pursuing a career in accounting.
