Victoria/Southern Vancouver Island Chapter - Lunar New Year and Auction Event Recap
The Chapter recently celebrated a momentous occasion, setting a new attendance record at their annual Lunar New Year celebration. A staggering 220 members gathered at Don Mee’s Restaurant on February 22nd, indulging in a sumptuous feast that honored the Lunar New Year's rich traditions! The evening was not only about savoring delightful cuisine but also about giving back, as it featured an online auction and a 50/50 draw to bolster the CPA Award in Accounting at Camosun College.
The air buzzed with excitement as attendees placed bids on an array of over 50 items, ranging from coveted gift cards to premium golf bags, all kindly provided by local enterprises and community benefactors. The Chapter's dedication and the community's generosity shone brightly, culminating in a remarkable $5,500 raised, surpassing their fundraising target. These funds are earmarked to support aspiring CPAs in their educational endeavors.
