Pacific Northwest Chapter - Local Economic Development Series: Why Northwest BC is the Place to Be - Prince Rupert Event Recap
On September 11th, 2024 the Pacific Northwest Chapter held its forth and final luncheon in its Economic Development series. CPA members attended a luncheon in Prince Rupert at the Wheelhouse Brewery and had an opportunity to reconnect with other members. This was the first event in Prince Rupert in several years and it was encouraging to see a large turnout.
The group received a presentation from Paul Vendittelli Director of Economic Development and Transportation for the City of Prince Rupert. The City has several large projects in various stages of development that were discussed, along with how their priorities align with their strategic plan. The group conversation focused on the approaches being taken to address challenges around the airport, a theme similar to other communities. The Port expansion and housing were other topics of discussion.
