On June 5th, the Pacific Northwest Chapter held it second event of the year. CPA members and Chapter volunteers attended a luncheon in Kitimat at the Hirsch Creek Golf Course.

The second in a four-part series, the series focuses on the Economic Development of the Pacific Northwest. Walsham Tenshak, Director of Economic Development for the District of Kitimat provided a detailed presentation on the community’s new strategic plan and vision for growth over the next five years. The presentation stimulated excellent discussion on the changing landscape of the northwest and the particular challenges and opportunities that exist in Kitimat.

Doris Fraser, CPA, CMA, the Chapter treasurer and Kitimat Director, thanked members from Terrace that traveled to the event to learn more about her part of the region.

The next stop will be Smithers on August 14th, with Prince Rupert planned for early fall. Watch for more details!
