Standing Ovation Event Kootenay East Chapter Event Recap
In October 2024, CPABC and three of its Chapters held a series of special Standing Ovation events in Terrace, Cranbrook, and Fort St. John to celebrate members’ career milestones and welcome new designees. Hosted by the Pacific Northwest, Kootenay East, and Peace Region Chapters, each event brought together members and guests to connect, honor achievements, and build community.
The evenings began with cocktail receptions where attendees enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and the chance to reconnect with colleagues and friends. Each event featured an engaging lineup, emceed by a local Chapter member, and included remarks from CPABC President and CEO Lori Mathison, who provided an insightful economic update relevant to the profession and local region. Additionally, CPABC Chapter Program Specialist Ashling Diamond delivered a brief presentation on the benefits and impact of Chapter volunteerism, encouraging members to deepen their involvement.
Following the presentations, attendees turned their attention to celebrating milestone achievements. Each event recognized members who have reached significant milestones in their CPA careers, as well as individuals who recently received their designations within the past year. Specific honorees included:
- Pacific Northwest Chapter: One 10-year, one 25-year and one 40-year milestone member.
- Kootenay East Chapter: One 10-year, one 25-year, and two 40-year milestone members.
- Peace Region Chapter: One 60-year milestone member.
The events also included exciting door prizes, with one lucky winner at each event taking home a One-Day CPABC PD Seminar gift certificate.
With over 50 members and guests joining across the three locations, the CPABC Standing Ovation events were a true celebration of achievements and camaraderie. Each event brought members together to reflect on their professional journeys and build lasting connections within their Chapters and the broader CPA community.
