CPABC Annual Business Case Competition 2024
Registration Deadline: January 25, 2024 at 12:00pm (noon) PST
First Round: January 26 - 28, 2024 (video submission)
Final Round: March 16, 2024 (in-person presentation)
Demonstrate and develop your business acumen by challenging yourself and your teammates to create strategic, innovative solutions to real issues facing real businesses! The CPABC Annual Business Case Competition is a business strategy case competition with two competition rounds. The Top 8 teams from the First Round will be invited to compete in the Final Round at the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus. The Final Round includes an evening networking and celebration reception joined by CPA members across BC.
Prizes: The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of $2,400. The second placed team will receive a cash prize of $1,200 and the third placed team will receive a cash prize of $600.
Teams: There are no limits on the number of teams from each school. Teams of four must have at least two students who are in their 1st or 2nd year of studies, and teams of three must have at least one student who is in their 1st or 2nd year of studies. Undergraduate students of all disciplines are invited to participate, no prior experience is required. See Rules and Regulations for detailed information.

I would like to extend my greatest thanks to everyone involved in making this amazing event happen. I feel incredibly proud and grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an enriching experience. The competition provided me with a unique opportunity to test my knowledge and skills, and to learn from my peers and industry professionals. Overall, I believe that participating in the CPABC case competition is a valuable experience for anyone pursuing a career in accounting or business. It challenges you to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively, all of which are essential skills for success in any field.

CPABC was an incredible opportunity and experience, where I got to make a genuine connection with incredible professionals while sharpening my critical thinking and problem-solving skills! Beyond that, our storytelling and presentation skills were also refined over the two rounds of cases, and the incredible finals day. I had a fantastic time at the 2023 CPABC Business Case Competition! It was a fantastic opportunity to apply business skills learned in the classroom, while working in a fast-paced team environment, to work towards a tailored solution for the case client. CPABC did an amazing job of hosting a memorable experience for all attendees, throughout a day that also featured networking opportunities, fireside chats, and complimentary meals. I highly recommend any interested applicants to consider competing at next year's event!
